Quantum dots (QDs), also known as semiconductor nanocrystals orsemiconductor nanoparticles, with many advantages and extensive applications in thefield of Biology, Biomedicine, Nano-drugs, and drug analysis, is a hot topic of recentresearch as a fluorescent probe. Naringenin, α-mangostin, Artemisinin and Chrysinare four main active ingredients of Chinese herbal medicine. In this paper,water-soluble CdSe/CdS quantum dots were used as fluorescent probes to determineNaringenin, α-mangostin, Artemisinin and Chrysin. The main contents are as follows:In the first chapter, it summsrizes the fluorescence characteristics, synthesis, andthe application in environmental monitoring, food monitoring, biomedical, druganalysis of the quantum dots; then, intruduces Naringenin, α-mangostin, Artemisininand Chrysin and their analytical methods. The second chapter, synthesized the CdSe/CdS QDs, with peculiar spectralproperties, in an aqueous solution using thioglycolic acid as a stabilizing agent. Basedon the fluorescence quenching of CdSe/CdS QDs by Naringenin, a novel sensitiveand specific method for Naringenin determination was established. Variousinfluencing factors were studied, including pH, concentration of buffer solution, reaction time and quantum dot concentration and so on. Under optimum conditions, the linear range is from4μg/L to520μg/L, and the detection limit is2.00μg/L. Themethod has been applied to the determination of the content of Naringenin in Asiaticwormwood with satisfactory results. The third chapter, based on the fluorescence enhancing of CdSe/CdS QDs byα-mangostin, a novel sensitive and specific method for α-mangostin determinationwas established. Under optimum conditions, the linear range is from4μg/L to600μg/L, and the detection limit is2.70μg/L. The method has been applied to thedetermination of the content of α-mangostin in mangosteen shell with satisfactoryresults. The fourth chapter, based on the fluorescence enhancing of CdSe/CdS QDs byArtemisinin, a novel sensitive and specific method for Artemisinin determination wasestablished. Under optimum conditions, the linear range is from4μg/L to640μg/L,and the detection limit is2.30μg/L. The method has been applied to the determination of the co ntent of Artemisia in Artemisia annus with satisfactory results. The fifth chapter, based on the fluorescence quenching of CdSe/CdS QDs byChrysin, a novel sensitive and specific method for Chrysin determination wasestablished. Under optimum conditions, the linear range is from1μg/L to460μg/L,and the detection limit is0.78μg/L. The method has been applied to the determinationof the content of Chrysin in mangosteen shell with satisfactory results....
