Pulsating fluidization is a new and advanced method through which processing can be realized for the materials with the property such as high dispersion and adhesion. Several parameters are usually required such as bed material mixing, gas-solid contact, therefore the mixing and separation of two-component and multi-component are frequently involved, dealing with a different type or different kind of particulate material. In this paper, a new application is presented in which pulse air intake severs as a mean of promoting the two-component material mixing. Mixing mechanism constantly can’t be presented accurately, due to the complexity of fluidized bed’s hydrodynamics. Therefore its theoretical research will be addressed in this paper. In this paper, mixing characteristics of fluidized bed is simulated through the experiments in which we use different size of silicon gel particles as one group and glass beads and grains with same size as other group. In this experiment sedimentary component concentration distribution is analyzed according to mixing materials that are extracted from different level of bed and then separated. Influence for material mixing is discussed in aspects such as particle size(d p), density (ρp), pulse width ratio (I=ton/toff), frequency (f), and intake velocity (u).At the same time the contrast is made between the two experimental groups in order to clarify influence of each parameter. For the groups experimental result of the group with same density is better than another under same condition, so the conclusion is that size difference is a decisive role in two-component materials mixing.
