Before the project was launched into practice, Mei Steel is among the top ones regarding the control of ribbon iron both at home and abroad. However, the absence of width control machine and side guider demands coarse crushing with vertical miller has to function as both side pressor and width control, which results in great gap between Mei Steel and Bao Steel with regard to the control of width, in particular at the first and last10m of ribbon iron in terms of accuracy, ending up with over-width or over-narrowness.In order to bridge the gaps, we explore further into the hot crushing and coarse crushing models as well as basic automation, optimizing a set of mathematical nucleus algorithm of Mei Steel for the optimization of vertical miller load distribution system. Via this, we hope to find out a suitable vertical miller parameter for Mei Steel in practice after this intended optimization.After the project was conducted, we have set new standard for the hot crushing width in terms of techniques and skill, and then optimize the basic automation, with model control procedure optimized last. In the end, the ratio width of hot crushing has been improved into the range between99.65%and99.89%from that between99.04%å'Œ199.68%in2006for0~12.5mm and0~15mm. what’s more, the number of ribbon iron rolls with hot crushing characteristic of over-narrow width has been reduced to82from273, which means a great decline of expenditure for our company.
