With the development of the garment industry, sewing techniques, sewing efficiency putforward higher requirements, the traditional industrial sewing equipment can not meet themarket demand. With the rapid development of technology, high efficiency and intelligentindustrial sewing machine becomes the trend of sewing machine industry, which is a hugepotential market. With the analysis of industrial sewing machine technical characteristics andpermanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) vector control strategy, the paper researchesand developments a industrial sewing machine servo control system based onhigh-performance MCU.Based on the system’s performance indicators and the actual needs of users, the paperdesigns the control program of system, and details the implementation of the key parts. Inorder to ensure fast tracking and precise positioning of the servo control system performance,the current, speed and position three-loop control program is taken. The paper introduces theintelligent PI algorithm, position and speed sampling methods, design inductive regulator onpedal and braking stop, which are effectively improve the servo system performance. Inaddition, a simple and practical method of PMSM rotor incipient position location is proposed,to achieve fast, accurate positioning and ensure reliable start of motor.This paper presents the design process of the system hardware and software. Referring tohardware, the system presents a hardware design with the Renesas MCU SH7125as the coreand Infineon IKCS12F602C as the power module. With a detailed analysis on the hardwarecircuit, including master module, power module, panel module, pedal sampling module andother functional modules, eventually a stable, reliable hardware platform is built. Referring tosoftware, C language and modular design are used in development and debugging of software.With the analysis of design process, the entire software system is divided into the masterprogram and human-machine interaction program, which run independently. Besides, thepaper details the key program implementation of motor drive and sewing mode.The prototype of the industrial sewing machine, with a simple, smooth human-machineinterface, is made. The system realizes many automatic functions, such as needle position,trimmer, thread pick, presser lift, reverse sewing and so on. The test results of system performance show that it has good static and dynamic performance and also meet the variousparameters of the indicators.
