With the continuous development of Chinese economy and the domestic refining oilscapacity rising year by year,coupled with the more stringent environmental regulations, so oilrefining industry is to develop the processes for processing high low-quality crudes; Inaddition to this, with the increasingly reducing of the petroleum reserves and thedegrading of crude oils, rsidue hydroprocessing is a significant residue upgradingtechnology which has widen the sources of the raw materials. The development ofHydrogenation catalysts with high performance plays an important role in the oilhydrogenation technology. The product upgrades and technology development ofHydrogenation catalyst has made rapid progress in recent years.RMS-1B is second generation of Residue Hydrogenation Catalyst developed by RIPP,it has high of desulfurization activity, hydrodenitrogenation and taking off redidual carbonactivity, The physicochemical properties of the carrier directly affects the performance ofhydrogenation catalysts. This issue through compared with laboratory and and differentindustrial device applications. The paper systematically investigated pseudo boehmiteproperties such as grain size, crystallinity, specific surface area, pore volume, pore size distribution, basically the same circumstances, different process conditions such as acidpowder ratio, liquid ratio, kneading time, adhesive solvent and extrusion aid and otherfactors of RMS-1B, besides, after he equipment of different molding, drying, roastingprocess, the preparation of pore volume, specific surface area, pore size distribution, waterabsorption, bulk densi-ty often have different properties.Through the analysis of the principle of the carrier Calcination, combined with meshbelt type calciner and vertical roasting activation furnace, the advantages of the innovationcarrier of roasting technology. In the roasting process, material relative to net belt static,with circulating hot air through the material, make full contact with material, by adjustingthe roasting process parameters such as temperature and the ratio of gas agent, can effectively improve the quality of vehicle, ensure the material yield, reduce the energy consumption at the same time.Optimization of residue hydrogenation catalyst carrier preparation technology andperfect equipment for producing high performance of residue hydrogenation catalyst hasthe important practical value.
