As the bearing and traction components of variety elevators and conveyors, round-linkchains are widely used in industrial and mining enterprises. Taking bucket elevator as anexample, the exciting force of the round-link chain with heavy load starting wasnumerically simulated, and the dynamic characteristics of round-link chain were analyzedduring the starting process in this dissertation, which provided a theoretical foundation forthe bucket elevator safe operation. Main research works have been done as follows:1. The research program of the starting in the air and on the ground was determined.When starting in the air, the starting process was divided into gravitational equilibriumstage and velocity loading stage by using complete restart function in LS-DYNA. Whenstarting from the ground, the starting process was divided into looseness stage and velocityloading stage by using model extract function in LS-DYNA.2. The elevator system was simplified into spring system based on the modelsimplification principle and relevant theory. The geometric model, material model andfinite element model of bucket elevator round-link chain was established by ANSYS andLS-DYNA software.3. The starting work condition of bucket elevator round-link chain in the air wasresearched. The starting procedure was divided into two stages: instantaneous load andsteady increasing load. A two-stage calculation method was established for gravitationalequilibrium and velocity loading, and the exciting vibration condition was analyzed whenheavy load round-link chain was started in the air, which the distribution rule of dynamicstress was obtained.4. The starting work condition of bucket elevator round-link chain from the groundwas researched. The starting procedure was divided into two stages: tensioning stage andstarting stage. And the exciting vibration condition was analyzed when heavy loadround-link chain started from the ground, which the distribution rule of dynamic stress was obtained.5. To analyze the effect of analysis system damping on mechanical properties ofround-link chain, the damping constant was set as0.5,1and2in the simulation. Thegreater damping constant the system is, the faster vibration convergence the stress andenergy of the round-link chain.
