On The Problem Of Environmental Justice And Its Solving Approach: A View From Harmonious Society

Environmental justice is a frontier problem of environmental ethics, but also is amajor practical problem currently facing the world. It symbolizes the worldenvironmental protection movement has entered a new stage. Environmental justicefurther developed the perspective of environmental ethics, which is an importanttheoretical stand of environmental ethics and the way of realization.Since1978, China has achieved sustained economic growth, people’s livingstandard has been greatly improved. However, with the rapid growth of economy,the environmental justice issues in China are also increasingly prominent, hasbecome the important factor to restrict the harmonious development of our societyand the comprehensive construction of our society. Our attempts to explore theconnotation of environmental justice, the major problems in China’s currentenvironmental justice and its solutions, provide a reference for us to construct thesocialist harmonious society.The connotation about environmental justice we believe should be defined as: thefairness and justice of the people of the world in the field of the environment.Although people all over the world are different in nationality, race, color, ethnicstatus, and occupation, the dominant position and the rights and obligations in thefield of the natural environment are equal. It should get attention and protection fromlegislation, law enforcement and judicial equally.At present, the environmental justice issues in China mainly are as follows: theenvironmental justice issues between the East and the west, environmental justiceissues between urban and rural areas, environmental justice issues between the richand the poor. Social groups unreasonable make unreasonable and unscientific use ofenvironmental resources, get great wealth, but often assume little consequences ofenvironmental pollution. The general publics get little benefit from environmentalpollution and destruction, but will suffer the bitter fruit of the deterioration of theenvironment. Causes of environmental justice problems in China are diverse. The control ofurban and rural economy structure,lack of environmental policy, and environmentallaws and mechanism not perfect, environmental justice popularization not in place.There is no ready-made model to solve the environmental problem of justice in ourcountry, but to Marx’s instruction, Integrate theory with practice, from the point ofview of resource, environment, politics, economy, culture and current social situation,seek solutions suitable for current situation of environmental justice in china. Wethink, the solution is: to vigorously develop circular economy, make policies, lawsand regulations of environmental justice, safeguard mechanism in the construction ofenvironmental justice, strengthen the propaganda of environmental justice. Webelieve that, with the environmental justice issues in China continue to resolve, wewill achieve a better vision of building a socialist harmonious society.
