Cyanate resins(CE) with the outstanding mechanical, dielectric, high temperature performanceand low water up-takes are widely used in aerospace structure, electronics industry and militaryindustries. But CE resins are not meet the needs of many practical usages in some areas as their brittlecaused by the high rigidity of the triazing ring structure. So toughening modification needs to beapplied to preparation CE reins to satisfy special requirements.In this study, copolymers based on bisphenol A dicyanate ester(BADCy) and epoxy resin hasbeen prepared. Then discuss the different types of epoxy resin and curing agent content influences onthe system viscosity, besides curing mechanism, curing kinetics, curing procedure and compositeshave been systematically studied. E-51can effectively improve the mechanical performance ofBADCy, the tensile strength and flexural strength can be improved to80.2MPa and113.3MPa,respectively, if30wt%of E-51was used. Toughening mechanism was discussed according to themicrographs of the specimens. However, thermal properties, bibulous rate and dielectric properties ofthe composites were weakened with the introduction of E-51. But corrosion resistance performance ofthe composites meet the aerospace field of application requirements.Graphene oxide was prepared by Hummers method. GO was functionalized byp-phenylenediamine and1-bromobutane. FT-IR, Rammn, UV-vis, SEM and other testing methodswere used to characterize GO, GO-PPD and GO-C4H9. In addition, the dispersion stability of GO,GO-PPD and GO-C4H9were studied. These properties of GO/E-51/BADCy, GO-PPD/E-51/BADCyand GO-C4H9/E-51/BADCy composites have been systematically studied. GO, GO-PPD andGO-C4H9can effectively improve the mechanical performance and thermal properties ofE-51/BADCy composite. However, bibulous rate and dielectric properties of the composites wereweakened with the introduction of GO, GO-PPD and GO-C4H9. Corrosion resistance performance ofthe composites meet the aerospace field of application requirements. Toughening mechanism wasdiscussed according to the micrographs of the specimens.
