Researches On Rolling And Normalizing Process Of Wide And Thin16MnDR Plate

Wide and thin steel plates are widely used with the large demand in the market.Therefore， the iron and steel enterprises have devoted to develop productiontechnology of the products，especially using the existing medium plate production linesproducing wide and thin steel plates. It is the right technology projects to be urgentlydeveloped for iron and steel enterprises at present.16MnDR is a widely used low-temperature pressure vessel steel. Based on theexisting plate mill in Xinyu Iron&Steel Co.，Ltd.，the16MnDR plates with dimensionof6mm×2500mm are developed through the design of slab，selection process of theheating，rolling and heat treatment， and online trials. Now mass production areachieved.The research results showed that the reasonable slab size is68mm×1870mm×L(length of the slab) by slab design. The slab heating process is that the slabs are heatedto1300℃±20℃and held for3.5~4hour in the furnace. And according to the shape ofthe slabl，the number of two-plus-burner is control to turn on. The rolling process isthat initial rolling temperature (1280℃) declines to end rolling temperature (920℃) by7rolling passes. The normalizing process is that the wide and thin plates are heated to860℃±10℃and held for24min in the furnace. The main technological points forrolling wide and thin plates are temperature control，roller-type configuration，passessetting，hydraulic bending roll force control and operational control.The results achieved in this paper can further extend the range of rolling thicknessand width of Xinyu Iron and Steel Group Co， Ltd. and provide a new way forenterprises to use existing equipment and technology to produce new products.
