With the development of national economy rapidly,the capacity of coal exploitation andsteel product keep increasing gradually.All kinds of mines, especially some large open-pitcoal mine’s construction have good growth. As a new product of transportation in large openpit mine engineering---wide-body dump truck (hereinafter referred to as the miningtruck),due to the high efficiency, loading capacity,flexible and convenient transport, unloadingfast, low prices, the mining truck has been applied and developed widely in the domesticmarket. However, because of the new products, considering the insufficiency of the design,the quality problems occur frequently, mainly in the axle fracture failure, as an important partof axle housing, in the work process should not only bear the weight of the whole, but alsobear the whole movement in the process of driving force, braking force and lateral force effecton the strength and fatigue life of axle housing, directly affects the performance of the axle.According to the analysis of application, main causes of failure is due to fatiguepavement axle housing complex conditions impact load and alternating load failure. In thispaper, a mining truck driving axle housing as the research object, through the establishment ofdriving axle housing of modeling, the loads and boundary conditions, the mechanicalproperties of the mining truck axle case analysis using the finite element method, the stressdistribution of the simulation, the axle housing in the work load of strain, and on the factor ofsafety of structure calculation, determine the force weak region.Aiming at the problem of driving axle housing’s fatigue failure, through the actualworking conditions of mining truck experiment, load acquisition axle housing in the actualoperation condition and the actual load spectrum, the spectrum measurement using LMSfatigue analysis is carried out to evaluate the fatigue life of axle housing. Through the analysisof fatigue hot axle housing exist, improvement and design of the structure according to theresults of the analysis, which is validated by simulation.In short, the structure improvement design through the fatigue life of driving axlehousing and analysis, so that the axle housing’s life is improved, but also other components ofthe mining truck’s fatigue life analysis provides useful reference value.
