Coal had a brilliant performance in the history of human civilization as the important sourceof energy.Even in the21st century of rapid economy and science development the status of thecoal as main source of energy will still not change.Mining cities have made great contributions tothe country’s economic construction most of which have lost their previous brilliance nowadaysand encountered a large amount of difficult problems hard to overcome for themselves in theirprocess of development.Among them, the environment problem has become the current biggestecological environment problem for coal-dependent cities which is not only related to thesustainable development of mining cities but human survival environment quality.Pingdingshan is a typical resource-based city and as time goes on its unique economystructure and environment and such problems have become more and more apparent includingpoor environmental quality and poor city image and so on which directly affect the image ofPingdingshan, the investment and then the overall development. This paper made landscapeecology evaluation on Pingdingshan coal mining subsidence by ways of the actual survey datacombined with related history data analysis.Based on the characteristics of the coal miningsubsidence, the ecological environment, landscape aesthetic value, biological diversity ofsubsidence were chosen as first grade assessment indicators and the corresponding restoringforce, stability, productivity, soil erosion levels, water quality, ornamental value, agreeableness, diversities, naturalness and representativeness were chosen as second grade assessmentindicators. Then the weightiness of them was analyzed using analytic hierarchy process and threesubsidences more closer to Pingdingshan city were randomly selected combined withPingdingshan ecological garden which has been repaired by landscape ecological planning tocome to the conclusion of the CEI(Comprehensive evaluation index of landscape) of eachsubsidence.Through the landscape ecological evaluation and the comparison of evaluation results of eachsubsidence, the CEI is0.490,0.628,0.439of Pingdingshan Colliery No.6,8and11was hugely different from that of Pingdingshan ecological garden CEI is0.950which had more favorableecological environment after successful ecological landscape planning and restoration. ThePingdingshan ecological garden was taken as the key analysis target of ecological landscapeplanning combined with successful examples of ecological landscape planning of subsidences athome and abroad and the geographical positions and present situations were investigated and thenthree subsidences were analyzed and located by ecological landscape planning to providetheoretical foundation for ecological landscape planning of Pingdingshan coal miningsubsidences.
