Water quality parameters determination is an important component of the watertreatment process. Monitor the temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH value and turbidity ofwater environment parameters quickly and accurately in real-time is not only provides thebasis for water treatment, but also provides data and information for the marine freshwaterresource reuse and aquaculture. At the same time, it is implemented basis of energy savingand environmental protection of water resources.In order to multi-point monitor of the water quality, it is used the ARM-Linux as hostcomputer, and the MCU mcu as lower computer for automatic monitoring and transferring ofwater quality parameters. The core of the system is32bit ARM microprocessor. Collect waterquality parameters through the sensors, and for transferring and monitoring the data, it isachieved the data transmission of RS-485by Modbus protocol. The collected data coulddisplay in screen LCD touch after processing by CPU. It could show trends of the real-timedata through the rich graphical interface features under the aegis of the QT. The system have agood man-machine interface. The main research results are as follow: Firstly, based oncomputer network and senor technology, an on-line and fully informationized monitoringmode is built up, and a two-level monitoring system architecture based distributed controlmode is developed. Secondly, by analyzing the environmental particularity of waterparameters, included temperature, pH value, dissolved oxygen, reasonable selection forchoosing sensors is specified. Thirdly, the lower computer system consists of single chipcomputer STC12C5A60S2. Several lower computer are linked to one upper computer byRS-485bus, thus the monitoring system is composed. Fourthly, a multifunctional and flexiblemonitoring program for this monitoring system is developed for upper computer respectively.In a laboratory environment, the preliminary test carried on the online multi-parameter waterquality monitoring system reaches the research results.
