To realize continuous production, manufacturing like enterprises must rely on the safe and stable operation of the equipment. After ten years of development, equipment of iron and steel industry reaches large scale, automation, high-precision degree, from free scheduled repair to periodic maintenance, the management there has been some progress, but sudden fault and accidents interrupted production remain widespread. In order to improve equipment management in enterprise, this paper studies existing equipment management and maintenance problems in the representative Valin Lianyuan Steel Corp, try to find root cause, provides a comprehensive set of solution for the enterprise, on other enterprises also have reference value.This article introduces the history of equipment maintenance and related theory, analyzes the status and main issues of equipment management and repair in Valin Lianyuan Steel Corp through the investigation, research, interviews, case studies.Based on theoretical analysis, schematics, practice linked theory.etc; the article uses methods such as mathematical analysis and modeling, process flow chart analysis.etc, to realize the Valin Lianyuan Steel Corp equipment maintenance system optimization. Owing to the presence of failures and accidents uncontrolled, a large number of redundant repairs and lack of maintenance, too high cost, the article devises a set of equipment management optimization operation programs based on "optimizing inspection work, mastering the operation status of equipment, realizing predictive maintenance",focusing on optimizing inspection process, with device condition monitoring and fault diagnosis technique, also put forward the important viewpoint indicating "inspection is the core of equipment management,daily maintenance exceeds breakdown repair".The article also discusses some advanced theory in equppment management,such as Reliability Centered Maintenance(RCM),Condition-based Maintenance(CBM),Life Cycle Cost(LCC),etc. According to the analysis, through the design of normalized inspection and standard repair flow, and with the help of the computer system and expert system and other advanced tools, passive repair can be converted into active and predictive maintenance, fulfilling production equipment status controlled, ensuring the greatest degree of production equipment operation rate,high reliability, safety, economy and obtaining the best economic performance comparatively, at the same time the personnel idea for repair can be changed correctly, by means of loop optimization, enterprises can improve the implementation effect continuously, enhance the repair personnel skill quality, upgrade management level and increase economic benefits.
