Carbon fiber is a kind of special material with a series of excellent physical properties such as bearing high temperature but not break its strength, bearing the general acidic and alkaline.lt is widely used in sports equipment,aviation, aerospace, defense military industry and other fields. This paper firstly analyses and theoretical derivates the mathematical model of the stretching process which is the base part of the three major production processes in carbon fiber. And based on the mathematical model,a special distributed robust controller has been designed and simulated.The main work and research result in this paper contain three parts. Firstly,it analyses some important performance indexes of stretching process in carbon fiber production. Carbon fiber has some special physical performances, elastic and plastic deformation characteristic in stretching process. Based on above and the mechanics theory of elastic-plastic, the mathematical model has been derived for stretching process.Secondly,it gets the mathematical performance of DC motor which drives the traction roller by using the electromagnetism theory.And from the simulation,the rulers between tension,stretching ratio and motor input voltage has been test and verified.Thirdly,the distributed feedback controller has been designed on the base of the two models which is a non-linear the system has become nolinear. It is necessary to be linearized by feedback control method. To deal with the noise and model inaccuracy, a robust infinity controller is designed based on state feedback. Above all, the distributed robust infinity controller for the carbon fiber stretching process has been designed. With the effectiveness of this controller, the important parameters inlcuding tension and stretching ratio could be kept stable under some system interference.Finally, we summaries all of the research work, we can see the distributed robust control method has a good effect in carbon fiber production field from the simulation results. And it indicates a potential research direction for solving the robust control of the carbon fiber stretching process.
