The neodymium is widely used in permanent magnetic materials, hydrogen storage materials, laser materials and advanced alloy, playing a very important position in the field of high-tech materials. At present, metal neodymium is produced by NdF3-LiF-Nd2O3molten salt electrolysis, electrolytic tank adopts hanging type of cathode and anode, exposure, high cell voltage, low power efficiency and energy consumption. While under the cathode structure electrolyzer anode bottom-up consumption, the large size of the anode can be used to reduce the carbon block gross consumption rate, it can lift anode at any time to control the polar distance within the optimum range, and and it can be worked in the low voltage of electrolytic tank, it also implements automatic control easily and has good prospects in energy saving, but the groove is prone to occur the anode effect.In this paper, taking petroleum coke as aggregate, asphalt as binder, Nd2O3powder as additive in preparation of carbon anode, studying the amount of Nd2O3to the carbon anode of resistivity, true density, air oxidation, anode and NdF3-LiF-Nd2O3molten salt wettability properties and critical current density of the anode and anode gas escape behavior of the impact of the law.The results show that the resistivity of the carbon anode, the ash and air oxidation activity increase with the increase the amount of neodymium oxide added, volume density and true density values fluctuatte slingtly. Electrolyte on wettability of the carbon anode increases significantly with the anode of neodymium oxide content. Electrolyte on wettability of the carbon anode change better with the temperature rising. Compared with the anode without neodymium oxide, containing2.5%neodymium oxide anode resistivity increases by9.87%; The wetting angle of2.5%neodymium oxide anode in the3%neodymium oxide concentration is least,the value is91.9°.The critical current density of the carbon anode with the increase of the neodymium oxide dosage increase. When molten salt composition is NdF3(wt.83.3%)-LiF (wt.14.7%)-of Nd2O3(2%), the critical current density of the anode without neodymium oxide is1.92A·cm-2, the critical current density of anode containing2%neodymium oxide is8.4A·cm-2, improveing over three-fold. High temperature is favorable to improve the critical current density of carbon anodes. Adding neodymium oxide helps reduce anode overvoltage; Compared with the anode without neodymium oxide; when neodymium oxide content of2%, the overvoltage of anode specimen is lower than100mV specimen. Voltage fluctuation test shows that adding neodymium oxide to anode, voltage fluctuation frequency component increases, in favor of bubble releasing Compared with the anode without neodymium oxide the over-voltage of drops Within a certain range, the high current density helps the anode bubbles escape.The amount of neodymium oxide added to the carbon anode, in addition to resistivity increases slightly, other properties are basically in line withe industry standards. Electrolyte on wettability of the carbon anode improves significantly, the critical current density of the carbon anode sharp increases, the anodic bubble releases easily, it has a very important significance.in coefficient of andoe effect and energy consumption.
