As the global demand for towels and increasing species diversity requirements, as well as the improvement of quality of towel, the towel production enterprises of our country continuously increases spending on the technological reformation of the towel production equipment. The improvement of the new towel weaving equipment is often through the use of advanced electronic technology, especially the embedded technology.A design precept of hardware platform centered on the ARM microprocessor and CPLD device has been proposed on the basis of the analysis of the system and function, and the corresponding control software has been written. The other driver circuit has been designed to realize the control of the towel loom. This paper mainly completed the following work:The first part is about the design of the control system hardware platform. By analysis of the towel loom control system, a precept of hardware platform of the main control system based on STM32has been put forward. Aimed at the problem of insufficient system I/O port, the CPLD chip has been used. According to the requirements of the towel weaving, the circuit modules such as the communication circuit, PWM control circuit, A/D conversion circuit have been designed.The second part is about the design of the software of the main control system. The software design based on ARM and the software realization based on CPLD have been completed. According to the requirements of the towel weaving, combining with the concept of state machine, the main control software of the towel loom has been written. With the help of the adoption of the state machine, the transition of the state of different weaving has been realized and the stability and real-time performance of the system has been enhanced. The CPLD chip sent the input signals that have been detected to the ARM after pretreatment and received the control signals from the ARM. In this way, the I/O ports extension of the main control system and the signal preprocessing have been realized. In order to realize the communication of the LCD and ARM and get the weaving information, the Modbus protocol has been written.The third part is about the warp tension control algorithm. The basic principle of towel loom and the similarities and differences of the warp tension control between ordinary loom and towel loom have been analyzed. According to the requirements of the special warp tension control, the PID control algorithm based on BP neural network has been designed combined with dynamic model of the warp tension. The MATLAB simulation results show that compared with the traditional PID control mode, this control mode has faster response speed, smaller over shoot and higher steady-state accuracy.The fourth part is about the program debugging and the design of the system anti-interference. This paper finished the program debugging of the system and realized the anti-interference design from the aspects of hardware and software. To realize the reliable operation of the system, a series of anti-interference measures such as the optical coupling isolation, the analog signal partition and the watchdog design have been adopted.
