In steeling works, the circulating industry water system is very important. The energy consumption is also very large. Electricity load the entire unit about the project’s electricity consumption is20to30percent. The process equipment of quenching water treatment system works intermittently. When the system does not need to quench, the compressed water pump is still working at full speed, that resulting in energy wasting. So there is much room for saving energy in the original system. Frequency control technology is a effective way to solve the problem of large energy consumption.In this thesis, on the base of analyzing the control process of the system, frequency transformation of the system is completed. Optimizing the speed ratio of the variable frequency pump group is achieved. The main work is as follows.Firstly, on the basis of analysis of the system process, the system’s energy consumption index is calculated. The conclusion that there is much room for the existing way of water supply is obtained. Secondly, the quenching water energy-saving system is designed. The hardware type is selected and its configuration is completed. The design of software based on control requirements is accomplished. The control function of the system is achieved. Then, after the economic analysis of the variable speed pump, the mathematic model is established. The speed ratio of the pump is optimized with genetic algorithm. The optimizing problem is solved with Matlab. At last, the energy consumption between reconstructed system and original system is compared.In this thesis, the solution of energy consumption in the quenching water treatment system is proposed. The design and simulation is achieved. The energy-saving effect of the reconstructed system is verified.
