| With the development of industry, the environmental pollution is becomingincreasingly severe, especially the pollution in surface water environment. It isnecessary for us to take effective actions in water environment supervision andmanagement, because our domestic water has been polluted seriously by the sewagedischarge of life and industry. How to carry out an online and real-time supervision ofthe extensive and scattered water area is the basis of the solution of water environmentpollution, so it is significative to design a corresponding monitoring system for thewater environment.In this paper, according to the large and wide characteristics of the surface waterenvironment, we developed a water environment monitoring system based on wirelesssensor networks. The system has the features of displayed online, real-time monitoringand control. The System consists of a wireless sensor network and the corresponding PCmonitoring software, wireless sensor networks constituted by a plurality ofsub-networks, each sub-network based on multiple sensor nodes has a data base as thecore. A ZigBee network consists of multiple sensor nodes and data base, and the dataand commands transmitted by ZigBee module. Managers could online and real-timecontrol and monitoring the sensor network through PC software. Meanwhile, the systemis able to real-time data display, print, save the data, PC monitoring software makescommunication with data base by GPRS. In this paper we detailed describe the designand implementation of water environment monitoring system data base, the hardwareand software of sensor node and PC software. On the terms of data base station andsensor node hardware, we select the LPC2368chip as the core, the system consists ofprocessor module, power management module, communication module, externalstorage module and signal acquisition module. Software uses μC/OS-II system, andadds GPRS reception program. And the on-line monitoring and control function iscompleted on PC software.Finally, the system was tested on the hardware and software. The test decrypts thatthe sensor nodes and data base achieve reliable data communication. PC monitoringsoftware is able to complete real-time sensor networks on-line monitoring and controlby GPRS module. GPRS module, GPS module, ZigBee module and the sensor modulewere stabilized. PC software functions can be achieved. It showed that the various parts of this water environment monitoring system can complete reliable and stable waterenvironment monitoring tasks to meet the needs of modern water environmentalmonitoring. |
