The technique of heavy oil thermal recovery is the most common way in oilfieldexploitation at present while the power frequency heating electric power is inefficiencyand has a huge power consumption which has a strong impact on the economic benefitof petroleum industry. Smart medium frequency heating electric power for heavy oilwell which can improve the efficiency of the heavy oil thermal recovery system andrealize its energy efficiency has a good development potential and wide range ofpotential applications.This paper introduces the principle of the medium frequency heating electricpower system and analyzes the development status and trend of the electrical heatingsystem. Then it reaches a conclusion from the research of the wellbore powerdistribution and equivalent circuit of the load that the power distribution change isnonlinear with the change of the oil depth and electrical heating system can improvethe efficiency by boosting the frequency of the power which can reduce the energywaste and stick out the superiority of the medium frequency heating electric powersystem.The medium frequency heating electric power system using AC/DC/ACfrequency technology which changes the three-phase alternating current intosingle-phase alternating current whose frequency, voltage and current can be controlledand changes the output power by PWM can keep the heating system in resonance stateand reduces the reactive power loss under the supervisory control of the system basedon SCM. The using of the amorphous alloy transformer ensures the stable operation ofthe heating system and lower the loss of the power.This paper creates the math model of the heating system which has thenonlinearity, time-variation and large-inertance characteristic and proposes aauto-tuning optimal PID controller which can shorten the time of temperatureregulation, hold-up the overshoot of the system, guarantee the controlling of thetemperature and improve the efficiency of the heating system. The simulation and siteoperation prove the effectiveness and rationality of this method.
