Sinopec Shanghai Gaoqiao Company2#FCCU and its related units were as the object of study in this paper. In view of the great energy consumption of FCC unit, through comparing the actual energy consumption with standard energy consumption, finding out the influencing factors about extra energy consumption of FCC, and then putting forward the improvement methods, to solve the high energy consumption problems of the FCC unit.This paper putts forward four specific methods such as Heat integration, The utilization of low temperature heat, Modification of waste heat boiler and Modification of Steam turbine to solve the high energy consumption problems. These methods are closely related to the actual processing condition of the FCC unit and upstream or downstream processing and energy consumption. Four schemes can be implemented respectively and be conducted independent accounting, but influence each other during processing operations, so these methods also take the change of processing pipe line and actual processing parameters into account. Because these methods not only have a great influence on the total unit energy consumption, but also changed the unit operation procedure. Among them, Heat integration and the utilization of low temperature heat are based on extra different quality of heat accumulated in fractionation system, then through strictly calculating, optimizing processing to make full use of various energy. Modification of waste heat boiler and Modification of Steam turbine involve the improvement of key energy production equipments and key energy consumption equipments to realize the optimum utilization of energy.
