Historical period of Chinese Ming-style furniture and western baroque furniture,which are substantially the same, representing the outstanding achievements in thedevelopment of Western classical furniture, but there is a big difference between the twomodeling features, it is a different state of development of its social caused. Ming-stylefurniture and baroque furniture features two types of lies: Ming-style furniture, anextensive, fully functional; baroque type of furniture is relatively small, but the shapemore. Through comparative analysis of morphological features of Ming furniture andbaroque furniture, decorative features, structure and technology features, timbercharacteristics, explains Ming furniture due respect for the natural design concept, thepursuit of elegant Qing Yun ’s mood, which has the form of simple and neat,sophisticated and elegant decor, scientific and rational structure modeling features;rather baroque furniture due to the pursuit of romantic style, advocating freedom, whichhas a novel form of exaggeration, harassment gorgeous decoration, craft complex novelshape features, showing elegant and ornate artistic effect. Both feature different shapesdue to factors different political, economic, cultural, religious, aesthetic concepts such ascause: the religious factor," Confucianism"," release"," Road " three religions mutualinfluence, mutual penetration, Ming furniture design showing unity ethereal andotherworldly, and Baroque churches of religious people in order to get rid of theshackles of furniture pursuit of free-spirited styling; philosophical ideology, Mingfurniture show " respect for nature, imitating nature" cultural characteristics, baroquefurniture showing the courage to explore the natural and cultural connotations; inaesthetic concepts, Ming-style furniture and elegant exhibit free and natural aestheticcharacteristics, and baroque furniture reflects the people’s magnificent luxury aestheticideals.By comparing the Ming-style furniture and baroque furniture styling features andthe causes of the differences found in both styling and have their own cultural identity,its essence in an integrated basis, to its dregs, the traditional and contemporary designlanguage design the perfect combination of full use to furniture design, to meet the user’scognitive psychology, while expanding our contemporary furniture design concept, andcarry forward the spirit of traditional culture.
