The double conical arc tool will help improve the life of diamond tool with itsgreater force area and the possibility to turn blade online during the ruling process.So as the applications of the large grating and the concave grating are widely used,the double conical arc tool is gradually being concerned seriously. According toexperience of diamond grinding, the force during grinding will have an impact onthe quality and wear resistance whether it is too small, too large or fluctuatingwithout rules. So it is very important to control the grinding force stable. In order toobtain high-quality circular knives, I designed a control system for the arc tool tokeep the grinding force stability.Firstly, I completed the overall design for the control system of the arc tool. Tosolve the difficulty in measurement on-line, a double-conical arc tool lappingpressure measuring instrument based on leverage was designed. Also a mathematicalmodel of lapping pressure between the tool and disc was established. It achieveddata acquisition of lapping pressure during high speed grinding process. Then Idesigned a sophisticated feeding system which including the parameter analysis andselection of the servo motor, ball screw and master chip.Secondly, I established the system parameter identification method based on least squares parameter estimation and get the transfer function of the control systemby using this method. Then the characteristics of the arc tool grinding force stabilitycontrol system were analyzed depending on this system model. PID controlalgorithm was derived and simulated by Matlab depending on the characteristics ofthe arc tool grinding force stability control system. The initial PID was determinedbased on the simulation results and obtain the optimum PID parameters of the arctool grinding force stability control system by measuring online.Finally, the hardware control circuit was designed applying DSP2812as the corehardware and the functional modules of the system were introduced in detail. Thesoftware design of the arc tool grinding force stability control system was realized inCCS3.3and LabVIEW environment respectively to complete the arc knife grindingforce stability control, which including PC data display, control module and arc toolgrinding control module by DSP. By PC control interface, the experiments the arctool grinding force stability control system based on PID controller were achieved.
