In recent years, cavity-glass has become the important architecture material. It can savethe energy sources. And that, the cavity-glass sealant was the absolutely necessarily airproofmaterial in producing the cavity-glass. The quality and variety of sealant have the importantinfluence on the quality of cavity-glass. The IIR sealant was one kind of cavity-glass sealantswhich used earlier. It has strong ability of waterproof and anti aging. The IIR was one kind ofreclaimed rubber also, so it has the big development potential in this society.In this paper, reclaimed IIR was selected to prepare cavity-glass sealant through thetechnique of compound mixing. The optimal content of reclaimed IIR and fillers weredetermined respectively through studied the effect of regenerated IIR and synergist content onperformance of sealants. The best carbon black content was60phr; the terpene was80phr; thePIB was90phr; and the talcum powder was90phr. The wt%of regenerated IIR was20%inthe sealant.The sealants filled with wood flour were prepared. The effects of the particle size,surface treatment and the dosage of wood flour in filling system of sealant were studied. Theresults showed that with the increase of wood flour particle size, the shear strength and theworkability of sealant were reduced, and the water absorption of sealant was increased. Thewater absorption of sealant filled with wood flour treated was smaller than the sealant filledwith wood flour untreated. With the increase of wood flour content, the density andworkability of sealant were reduced; the hardness and water absorption of sealant wereincreased. The sealants retained the sealing property after heated in water. Overall evaluation,this paper determined the particle size of wood flour was100mesh, the content of wood flourwas90phr, and treated the wood flour with3%regent.The sealants for cavity-glass with fire-resistant reagent of Mg(OH)2were prepared. Theeffects of particle size and content of Mg(OH)2on performance of sealants were studied. Theresults showed that with the increase of Mg(OH)2particle size, the shear strength of sealantwas reduced, the hardness of sealant was increased. The maximum value of LOI appeared when the Mg(OH)2particle size was6μm. With the increase of Mg(OH)2content, the shearstrength and LOI of sealant were increased, the workability of sealant was reduced. Theminimum value of plasticity appeared when the Mg(OH)2content was250phr. Overallevaluation, this paper determined the particle size of Mg(OH)2was6μm, the content ofMg(OH)2was250phr. At this time, the burning grade was FV-0. The sealants had theflame-resistant effects.The weather ability of sealants was studied with the changing of environment. The feltforce of sealant was increased with the examination period extending. The sealants couldadapt rigorous changing of environment, and have excellent endurance, so it can assure theairproof effect.
