Since half of the20th century, global warming has become one of the worldwideproblems that people pay attention to. For a long time, China’s energy problems andpolicy measures of energy savings are concentrated in the industrial sector, we paid littleattention to the residents consumptions of energy and the corresponding CO2emissions.However, statistics show that residents energy consumption has exceeded the industrialsector and become an important point of growth. This study estimates household energyconsumption and carbon emissions factors research, makes a quantitative analysis of thecurrent situation and variation of the residents in Yangtze River Delta consumer carbonemissions. It also analyzes social-economic factors affect changes of consumption ofChinese residents in carbon emissions, in order to provide a scientific basis to thepolicies and management to reduce emissions. This article divided the consumer carbon emissions into residents living energyemissions and residents consuming carbon emissions. In order to the analyze thefeatures of residents’ consumption carbon emissions in Yangtze River Delta region, thispaper uses carbon emissions coefficient method and the improved environmentalinput-output-life cycle analysis method to estimate carbon emissions of urban and ruralresidents’ consumption from1997to2010in triangle region. Research results show thatthe Yangtze river delta region residents carbon emissions and consumer goodsembedded carbon emissions rose significantly. Among them, the residents’ consumergoods embedded carbon emissions is one of the important parts of residents’consumption carbon emissions, the proportion is as high as80%above. From thestructure of embedded carbon emissions,"living"occupied the largest proportion, followed by the "others","miscellaneous goods and services","cultural entertainmentproducts and services", then "transportation and communications," health care","familyequipment supplies and services";"dress" occupied for a minimum proportion. Fromthe point of structural changes, the proportion of "living" has been falling,"miscellaneous goods and services","cultural entertainment products and services","traffic and communication""health care" increased recently, which shows that peoplebegan to pursue the spiritual life with the continuous improvement of living standards. In addition, by adopting the poles analysis method to analyze the influence factors inthe production and consumption system for residents of embedded carbon emissionsgrowth of consumer goods, the paper found that while technological progress is the important factor that inhibits the growth of carbon emissions in Yangtze River Delta, theresidents’ consumption level effect and population size of residents’ consumption scalechanges are the other significant factors. Therefore, relying on technological progress toreduce carbon emissions is not enough, following "energy conservation and emissionreduction" and taking more effective measures to guide and encourage residentsconsumption pattern change in the direction of low carbon. However, the present stageof consumption rate compared with the developed countries in Yangtze River Delta isnot high. From the consumer point of view, enhancing the level of residents’consumption, promoting emission reductions cam advocate moderate consumption andgreen consumption concept to guide the correct consumption concept. |
