| Some of systems involve of foaming in chemical industry production, and the phenomenon of foam in the tower can influence of the tray efficiency, even endanger the operation.The experiment study were done for air-sodium dodecyl sulfate as the foaming system, and air-water as the non-foaming system respectively in a rectangle column of the combined directed float valve tray. The hydraulic performance involving tray’s pressure drop, entrainment, and weeping rate were measured in the different foaming systems. The influence of valve hole kinetic energy factor, weir liquid loading, weir height, tray spacing, and fractional hole area were studied on trays hydraulics, also the harmful effect of foam on the tray’s hydraulic performance was discussed.The results of experiment showed that the foaming agent concentration had a significant impact on hydraulic performance. The phenomenon of foam in the tower can reduce the tray efficiency as the entrainment, pressure drop, and weeping rate increased.Finally, the process simulation for the desulfurization section of regenerator was carried out with Aspen Plus, and completed the design of the column internals that based on the hydraulic experiment datas. |
