The thermodynamics and dynamics process are included in the working processof diesel engines. As a result, the total character of the diesel engines can not becomprehensively described by one of them. The multi-discipline united simulationmodeling can be built by the methods based on uniform language, interface, and HLA,among which the commercial software can be most used by the method based oninterface. In this article, the co-simulation technic of thermodynamics and dynamicsprocess of diesel engines were investigated by the methods based on interface. Themain work was done as follow:(1) The numerical model of6L21/31diesel engine has been built byAVL-BOOST, and then the working process has been numerically calculated.(2) The3D solid model of the crankshaft and connecting rod mechanism andcorrelative components of6L21/31diesel engine has been built by the combination ofPro/E and ADAMS, which were assembled virtually. And then the dynamicsimulation calculation of the crankshaft and connecting rod mechanism has beencarried out after building the simulation model of multi-body dynamics.(3) The dedicated data-interface and automatically run-control proceduresbetween BOOST and ADAMS programs had been designed using MATLAB, datatransfer and automatically run of simulation processes had been completed, graphicalinterface showing the co-simulation results had been designed based onMATLAB/GUIDE, and co-simulation of thermodynamic processes, kinematics anddynamics process in diesel engine had fully completed.Through the study on the front several aspects, Co-simulation of thermodynamicprocesses, kinematics and dynamics process in diesel engine had fully completed,Validity of the proposed modeling and simulation results had verified. It certainlydemonstrates that method of co-simulation is feasible.
