Automated Mechanical Transmission (AMT) has the feather of simple structure, high transmission efficiency, low manufacturing and maintenance cost and suiting for a variety of cars. AMT has a bright prospect for development in our country. At present, the theoretical study of AMT technology in the domestic has become mature, and our country is the progressively realizing the industrialization of domestic AMT. The research on AMT testing technology has great significance for the development and application of AMT.In this paper, a research on heavy vehicles AMT testing bench technology is done with the support of the "The testing bench of heavy-duty vehicle AMT" project. This paper covers the main research work:(1) A research on the AMT testing system is done, the program of AMT testing bench is put forward. Analyze characteristics of drive system including motor, clutch and gearbox, establish the entire testing bench mathematical model, and build Simulink model. The work situation of motor and clutch is acquired through simulation when AMT starts.(2) Two evaluation indicators of AMT starts:shock intensity and friction work and key factors affecting these two indicators are analyzed. Proposed the start control method of AMT testing bench based on fuzzy theory, and simulated using the built Simulink model. The fuzzy start method is verified higher start quality comparing with the constant speed start method.(3) Analyzed the requirements of the AMT testing bench system, and a design scheme about the testing bench is put forward. The detail about mechanical system, electrical system, software system, communication system is designed. Some start and shift gear experiments are done in the AMT testing bench and achieved a good result.
