Fuel cells could potentially replace the internal combustion engine and many other energy generation devices used today. Reduced emissions of greenhouse gases and increased efficiency are two of the major reasons that fuel cells are being seriously researched as a replacement to the internal combustion engine. Air supply system with a compressor is an important section of fuel cell system, and offers the air for fuel cell to work normally. My thesis mainly research the air compressor in the air supply system for fuel cell, including building the testing bench of air compressor, transient control research of air supply system and air compressor performance analysis based on experiment.The whole thesis consists of four sections:Chapter one first briefly states the theory and application of fuel cell, then introduces the research situation and direction and developing-history of testing technology of air compressor for fuel cell, it is pointed out why my thesis is done. In the end, this chapter shows the subjects of main research work.Chapter two introduces the whole figure of air compressor testing bench, including testing object, testing items and testing technology. Especially the testing items and testing methods are described in detail.In chapter three, an automation testing bench is developed for investigating the air compressor for fuel cell, including the hardware and software development. There are piple design of testing bench, electrical control system design, PLC program, touch screen design, serial communication program with variable frequency controller and software development with analysis and display of acquired data in PC. It provides an experiment platform for improving and optimizing the performance and transient control of air compressor for fuel cell.Chapter four mainly researches the air compressor performance and influence of different water sprayed on air compressor.Chapter five states the transient control of air supply system for fuel cell, including transient response, complex control methods of pressure and flow and simple model of air supply system. In the end, PID control and fuzzy control are experimented to find a right system control.Chapter six is the conclusion and expectation of my thesis.
