Signal molecules (growth factor, inducing factor), tissue scaffold and inducingcells constitute the three elements of bone tissue engineering scaffold, in which thedesign and manufacturing of scaffold is the core of the entire field of study. In theprocess of the bone construction, scaffold carries the signal molecules and induced cells,guiding these cells proliferation and differentiation to form a specific shape. However,porosity and pore size have a great impact on the bracket of these properties, so theporosity and pore size should be inevitably maintained at an appropriate range when thethree-dimensional bone tissue engineering scaffolds are built.This paper studies the construction methods of bone tissue engineering scaffoldfrom the following aspects, ensuring that the relevant elements of the scaffold can meetcertain requirements.Developing a slicing algorithm which can slice various three dimensional modelswith different heights, and ordering the contour line segments got after the cutting layerin an certain rules (anti-clock wise or clockwise), getting a container contains thetopology information of contour.A new scaffold pore unit-TPMS (Triply Periodic Minimal Surface) is discussed,and its construction method is also described.The feasibility TPMS can be used as thepore unit is also determinated. The relationship between the related design parametersof pore-forming unit and porosity and pore size is determined. In according to thisrelationship, the pore-forming unit can be designed, meeting actual requirements.According to the various two dimensional section profile after3D model sliced, thecorresponded filling algorithm, resulting in filling data which not only keep the wholeappearance of the mode, but also contain its internal topology information.The software used to construct bone tissue engineering scaffold is developed on theplatform of VC++6.0combined with OpenGL technology. By analyzing the data format of interface file in CLI format that rapid prototyping device used, the tissue scaffoldconstructed is saved to this king of file.
