The Study On Correlation Between RhoCã€Bmi-1ã€uPAã€PAI-1Invasivenessã€Migration And Prognosis Of Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma | | Posted on:2014-07-01 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:Y H Chen | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2254330401480164 | Subject:Pathology and pathophysiology | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Objective: To investigate the expression of RhoC (ras homologue)〠Bmi-1(B-cell-specific Moloney murine leukemia virus integration site1protein)〠uPA(urokinase-type plasminogen activator) and PAI-(1plasminogen activator inhibitor type-1)in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and its clinical pathological significance. Methods: The expression of RhoCã€Bmi-1ã€uPA and PAI-1Protein in specimens ofesophageal squamous cancer was detected by immunohistochemistry. The relationship ofRhoCã€Bmi-1ã€uPA and PAI-1expression was evaluated using χ~2testing and COXregression model and Kaplan-Meier survival curve analysis. Results: The positive rates ofRhoCã€Bmi-1ã€uPA and PAI-1Protein expression in esophageal squamous carcinoma washigher than those in normal esophageal tissues (72.5ï¼…vs30ï¼…,both P<0.05;78.8ï¼…vs5ï¼…,both P<0.05;75ï¼…vs45ï¼…;75ï¼…vs10ï¼…, both P<0.05). The expression of RhoC wasrelated to invasion depthã€lymph node metastasis and differentiation degree (P<0.05). Onthe other hand, not related to patient’s age〠tumor sizeã€nationalityã€pathological typesand gender(P>0.05). The expression of Bmi-1and uPA and PAI-1was related to invasiondepth, lymph node metastasis (P<0.05). however, not related to patient’s age〠tumorsizeã€nationalityã€differentiation degreeã€pathological types and gender(P>0.05). Theexpression of RhoC was positively related to that of Bmi-1(rï¼0.338, P<0.05). Theexpression of uPA was positively related to that of PAI-1(rï¼7.092, P<0.05). Thefive-year overall survival rate for all the patients was20ï¼…(1680). Univariate survivalanalysis suggested that the five-year survival rate for patients with positive expression ofRhoC was higher than for patients with negative expression of RhoC though the differencewas not significant(P>0.05); the five-year survival rate for patients with positiveexpression of Bmi-1was higher than for patients with negative expression of Bmi-1 though the difference was not significant(P>0.05); the five-year survival rate for patientswith positive expression of uPA was higher than for patients with negative expression ofuPA though the difference was not significant(P>0.05); the five-year survival rate forpatients with positive expression of PAI-1was higher than for patients with negativeexpression of PAI-1though the difference was not significant(P>0.05). Cox multivariateanalysis illustrated that invasion and metastasis were independent prognostic markersabout survival of ESCC patients (both P<0.05). Conclusion: The overexpression ofRhoCã€Bmi-1ã€uPA and PAI-1in ESCC enhances the invasion and metastasis. They mayserve as a prognostic factor to show biologic behavior of esophageal squamous cellcarcinoma. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | esophageal squamouscell carcinoma, ras homologue, B cell-specific MLVintegration site-1, urokinase-type plasminogen activator, plasminogen activator inhibitortype-1 | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
