Objective: In order to investigate the correlation between the bone mineral density of the hip and klotho protein in elder men of Xinjiang, and to discuss the dangerous factors of the hip BMD and klotho protein. Methods:the146cases, who hospitalized in our hospital during October2011to November2012, were divided into two groups according to hip BMD, T-score>-1.0SD as the normal group(n=78), T-score≤-1.0SD as the abnormal bone group (n=68). ELISA is used to detect the klotho protein concentrations in serum. Result:(1) Serum Klotho protein level: The abnormal bone group(7.850±3.012ng/ml) is lower than normal group(8.097±3.654ng/ml)(P>0.05); The normal group is lower than abnormal bone group in Uygur(P>0.05); The abnormal bone group is lower than normal group in Han population (P>0.05); The Uygur(6.992±3.045ng/ml) is lower than Han population(8.238±3.401ng/ml)(P>0.05); The Uygur is lower than Han population in abnormal bone mass group (P>0.05); The Uygur is lower than Han population in normal bone mass group (P>0.05).(2) The level of Klotho is correlated with Nation(rs=-0.197), Diabetes(rs=0.181), Height(rs=-0.189),25(OH)D(r=-0.171)(P<0.05).(3) The level of Hip BMD is correlated with Nation(rs=-0.176), Age(rs=0.181), Height(r=-0.189), OSTA index(r=-0.171)(P<0.05); Both Nation (β=-0.965, OR=0.381) and Height (β=-0.081, OR=0.922) are the independent risk factors affecting the hip bone mass(P<0.05). Conclusion: These findings suggest that: There was no significant correlation between Hip BMD and Klotho; Higher Klotho protein are more likely to happen during Han population, diabetes, lower body height, lower25(OH)D; And the decrease of bone mass in Hip BMD is easier obvious in Uygur population, eld, lower height, less OSTA index number; And the Uygur is the independent risk factor affecting the hip bone mass.
