Clinical Features Of The Women With Polycystic Ovary Syndrome And Their First-degree Relatives Among Uygur And Han People In Xinjiang

Objective: To investigate the differences of clinical and endocrine features betweenHan and Uygur patients with polycystic ovary syndrome and phenotypes of theirFirst-degree relatives. Methods：Data for201patients with PCOS and their First-degreerelatives were obtained by questionnaire,combined with clinical test. Statistic analysiswas performed using SPSS17.0. Results：(1) There were no differences between twogroups in age, menarche age, Menstrual days, endometrial thickness, body mass index,waist-hip ratio, ovarian volume and the number of follicles (P>0.05), but differenceswere significant between menstrual cycle, and incidence rate of the acne, hirsutism (P<0.05).(2) when we compare the Female Sex Hormone, Glucose and lipid metabolismmarkers, we found that Uygur women with PCOS show higher androgen andtriglyceride levels than the Hans (P＜0.05）, while Hans show higher cholesterollevels than Uyghur’s (P＜0.05）.(3) Uygur mothers of the patients showed higherprevalence of hirsutism than that of the mothers of Hans. Uygur fathers of the patientsshowed significantly higher prevalence of hypertension than that of the fathers of Hans.Conclusion：there were no significant differences in the clinical manifestation betweenUygur and Han women with PCOS, but differences were significant in endocrine andblood lipid metabolism．We found the same genetic phenotypes in the first degree relativesboth in Uygur and Han women with PCOS, indicated that father’s premature balding,father’s hypertension, mother’s irregular menses were major genetic phenotypes in familiesof women with PCOS．...
