Objective: To compare three different operation types of lesions of pancreatic bodyand tail, which are pancreaticosplenectomy、spleen-preserving distal pancreatectomy(SPDP)and segmental pancreatectomy. Methods: The clinical data of94patients in our hospital with lesions of pancreatic body and tail from January2002to June2012were analyzed retrospectively。The surgical duration, mean volume of introperative bleeding, postoperative complication(including pancreatic leakage, splenicabscess, splenic infarction, lung infections, intra-abdominal bleeding, abdominal infection and the incision infection), length of postoperative hospital stay and the overall cost were compared by variance analysis and the Chi-square test among the three groups. Results: There was significant difference on surgical duration, length of postoperative hospital stay and the overall cost among the three operation types. While the postoperative complication did not differ singnificantly. Conclusions: Compared with pancreaticosplenectomy, segmental pancreatectomy and SPDP had no significant difference on postoperative complication. They were more ideal operationtypes for lesions of pancreatic body and tail cause hey can reserve pancreas organization and the spleen furthest.
