The effect of natural medicines theory increasingly comes in for recognition due to the rise of demand for these values of medicine. Animal pharmaceutical sources come from themselves, which is often classified as such natural medicines, and has its own characteristic in the abundance of resources, the effect of precise curative, and the low adverse reflection of taking etc. Chenodeoxycholic acid(3a,7α-dihydroxyl-5β-cholane) is such kind of natural medicine resources, which was gradually used as cholelithiasis treatment. With the description of this is colorless and tasteless acicular crystal (recrystallized by ethyl acetate)be dissolved in Methanol, Ethanol and acetone, glacial acetic acid, but not in water, petroleum ether, benzene. Usually chenodeoxycholic acid occurred in combined form in the amino acid glycine and taurine. Most of it exists in boil of human, cow, goose and chicken. This paper focused on improving and rising in the industrial production of chenodeoxycholic acid compared with traditional technique. In the process of saponification of chenodeoxycholic acid, the response surface optimization design was utilized to best technical parameters in the effects of different temperature, time and the concentration of NaOH. And the optimized parameters were20h of time duration,98℃of saponification temperature,12%concentration of NaOH. The yield of chenodeoxycholic acid was2.39%according these features in fine selection, which was raised0.52%in the productivity, compared with traditional method’s yield1.87%. The macroporous resin separation method was used in the process of purification of chenodeoxycholic acid, in order to countermeasure against deficiencies of abused of organic reagents.3methods of identification was used in quality In qualitative and quantitative analysis of chenodeoxycholic acid after purified. The major ingredient has been confirmed as chenodeoxycholic acid in the purified samples by the qualitative analysis of the intermediates. And the content of chenodeoxycholic acid was94.89%which quantities by spectrophotometry and HPLC method. The chemical structure was characterized by the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and IR spectroscopy.
