| Objective To observe if combined interventional approach with traditionalChinese medicine (TCM) can better treat thromboangiitis obliterans (TAO) of Stage IIand above than other approaches.Methods60patients with thromboangiitis obliterans of stageâ…¡ and above wererandomly divided into two groups:30patients in group A treated with combinedinterventional therapy and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM),30patients in group Btreated with interventional approach. Then, the therapeutic efficacies of the two groupswere analyzed, including the cure rate, after one monthã€three monthsã€six monthsã€ninemonths and one year the recurrence rate, ankle brachial indexes (ABI), incidence ofcomplications, the levels of C-reactive protein and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR).Results compared with Group B, the cure rate in Group A markedly increased(P<0.05). After one month, three months, six months, nine months and one yearfollow-ups, the recurrence rate of Group A is much lower than that the other Group(P<0.05). And this difference is much more significant in a half year to one year’sfollow-up.The combined treatment of interventional approach with traditional Chinesemedicine increased the postoperative patency rate and it decreased the recurrence rate. For ABI, compared with Group B, Group A had a better efficacy in improving the arteryocclusion(P<0.05). Compared with Group B, Group A presented a lower incidence ofcomplications (P<0.05). After the treatment, the levels of C-reactive protein and ESR ofthe two groups all were lower than before, especial Group A (P<0.05). The resultsindicate that the combined interventional approach with traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) have a better curative effect and lower incidence of complications. Conclusions The combined interventional traditional approach and Chinesemedicine presents a better therapeutic effect in treating thromboangiitis obliterans. |
