Objective:QIN Bowei was one of the outstanding doctors from the Menghe Medical School; in addition, he was a famous Confucian physician at the final phase of Qing dynasty. Erudited Qin with profound scientific attainments created more than60medical works in all his lifetime. In clinical, QIN took Ding Ganren as his teacher, he was good at learning all the theories and formulae of all medical schools in every dynasties. During the procedures of treatment and discriminating, Qin was conscientious and meticulous; he did not confine to the used formulae but be good at making the formulae to be flexible. He was skilled in internal medicine and gynecology, and he also made a further research on the ointment-formulae treatment."GAO FANG DA QUAN""QIAN ZHAI GAO FANG AN" and "QIN BOWEI XIAN SHENG GAOFANG XUANJI" which recorded his winter-ointment-formulae treatment experience, were characteristic. Qin’s scientific ideology was based on the "Neijing", and it was obedience to the spirit which was brisk and flat of Ding Ganren. Moreover, he had amalgamated the strongpoint from JingYue; Ye’s and FuShan etc. Qin was adept in using five elements theory in discriminating.
