| Objective:This thesis probes how the smoke of the burning moxa stick affects the physical and hormone level of the pregnant mice as well as the growth and development of the fetal mice, thus probing into its effect on pregnant women and fetuses, so as to provide references for the judgment on the safety of moxibustion.Methods:Based on the use of the moxa stick in the Chengdu university of TCM, we establish a simulative environment of moxa smoke. We experiment on the post-coitum Kunming pregnant mice, then randomly dividing them into blank group, antiquated moxa group, pure moxa group, medicated moxa group. Each group is fumigated with the moxa smoke for30minutes every day except blank group. The experimental period is16days and during this period we observe how the body weight of the pregnant mice change, and after that we detect and analyze the amount, the weight and the development of fetal mice, as well as the change of E2and PROG in the pregnant mice serum.Results:1ã€There are no obvious differences in the hair color, activities, diet and drinking water of pregnant mice between each group.2ã€The body mass of pregnant mice:there is no statistical significance in comparing the ponderal growth of pregnant rats between the blank group and the other groups, even between each group themselves when their pregnancy is0days,6days,12days, and16days.3ã€The amount and situation of fetal mice:there is no statistical significance in comparing the amount, the body mass and the development of fetal rats between the blank group and other groups, even between each group themselves (P>0.05).4ã€The E-2and PROG content of the pregnant mice serum:the E-2a content: medicated moxa group>antiquated moxa group>blank group>pure moxa group, but there is no statistical significance between each group(P>0.05). The PROG content:medicated moxa group>blank group> antiquated moxa group>pure moxa group. When compared with the other three groups, there is an obvious increase in medicated moxa (P<0.05, P<0.01, P<0.001). At the same time, there is no statistical significance between antiquated moxa group, pure moxa group and blank group.Conclusion:In this experiment, we conducted that the moxa smoke has no exact effect on the weight, the E2level of the pregnant mice and the fetal mice development, so there is no obvious correlation with the types of moxa stick. The smoke of the burning the moxa stick will lead to the increase in pregnant rats’PROG, which may be related to the Chinese herbal medicine ingredients in moxa sticks. Therefore, the moxa smoke of a certain concentration has no obvious effects pregnant women. Thus pregnant women can get moxibustion therapy when necessary. |
