Rosmarinus officinalis extract is an efficient antioxidant.Recently, a large number of researches have revealed that rosemary had a lot of biological activities such as antioxidant, anticarcinoma, anti-inflammatory,antibiosis, antianaphylaxis. It was applied in medicine, food industry and daily health products. This paper studied rosemary extraction’s function of anti-aging and explored its body oxidation resistance through a series of behavioral observation, physiological and biochemical indexes and the determination of the molecular level the amount of gene expression. In order to study the rosemary’s anti-oxidation in vivo and anti-aging furtherly and provides theory basis for anti-aging research and development of rosemary.Firstly To further investigate the antioxidant ability of rosemary in vivo and in vitro, we selected D-galactose aging mice and SAM. Injected subcutenously into the ICR mice with D-galactose.The results showed that the all dose of rosemary can increase significantly T-AOC, SOD, CAT and GSH-Px activities in serum, liver、braim heart and kidney of D-galactose aging mice and SAM, decrease the level of MDA.Each rosemary groups prolonged the lifespan of mice, with the increase of Rosmarinus officinalis extract, aging was delayed in a dose-response relationship.During the behavioral tests, the rosemary groups displayed a series of significant anti-aging symptoms such as sensorimotor function and learning-memory improved. In addtion, the rosemary groups mice of organ index showed that the liver, brain, spleen anti-atrophy.Secondly,The real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR experiments on SOD1, GSH-PX1, GSH-PX2mRNA in liver tissues of ICR mice showed as follows. Compared with the model group, SOD1, GSH-PX1,GSH-PX2gene expression level were significantly increased in the rosemary groups. The results showed adequaately that, rosemary extract groups can significantly delay the D-galactose induced aging process and has the good anti-aging effect. Finally, the antioxidant ability in vitro of rosemary was studied. The rosemary showed stronger scavenging ability on·ABTS and·DPPH, and has some of the reductive ability, but the ability was weaker than Vc,.When they reach a certain concentration1000μg/mL), the rosemary had the same effect with Vc.
