A Initial Study On The Correlation Between The Vocal Cord Polyps And Traditional Chinese Medicine Constitutional

Objectives:Guidance by the theory of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) constitution, ues the Professor Wang Qi "TCM constitutional classification and determination" to discuss the distribution of the TCM physical types in the Vocal cord polyps and susceptible constitution, discuss the relationship between the Vocal cord polyps and TCM constitutional, in order to prospective assessment of potential patients and to play the advantages of Chinese medicine.Methods:To investigate160cases of the Vocal cord polyps Patients(case group)and70cases of the normal population without polyp of cord history(control group) with the "TCM constitutional classification and determination"that created by Professor Wang Qi.Analyze the distribution of TCM constitutional in two groups.Results:1.The frequency of each TCM constitutional in case grouP(16O eases of the Vocal cord polyps patients)was as follows:Phlegm-dampness constitutional(27.50%)> Blood stasis quality(23.13%)> Damp-heat constitutional(16.88%)>Qi stagnation constitutional(13.13%)> Qi deficiency constitutional(8.13%)>Yin deficieny constitutional(4.36%)> Yang deficieny constitutional(2.50%)=Special constitutional(2.50%)>Normal constitutional(1.88%).Phlegm-dampness constitutional and Blood stasis constitutional occupied the highest Percentage.2.The frequency of each TCM constitutional in control group(7O eases of normol population without polyp of cord history)was as follows:Normal constitutional (34.29%)> Qi deficiency constitutional(15.71%)>Phlegm-dampness constitutional(12.86%)>Damp-heat constitutional(1.43%)>Yang deficieny constitutional (8.57%)>Blood stasis constitutional(5.71%)=Yin deficieny constitutional (5.71%)>Qi stagnation constitutional(4.29%)> Special constitutional(1.43%), Normal constitutional occupied the highest Percentage.3.Comparing the distribution of TCM constitutional in two groups, there were significant difference in Normal constitutional, Phlegm-dampness constitutional, Blood stasis constitutional, Qi stagnation constitutional(P<0.05).4.Different age groups and different sexuality showed significant difference between case group and control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:1. There were certain correlation between the Vocal cord polyps Patients and TCM constitutional.Biased constitutional are more prone to fall ill than Normal constitutional.2. The susceptible constitution of the Vocal cord polyps Patients were Blood stasis constitutional and Phlegm-dampness constitutional.3.Age and sexuality had certain correlation with the Vocal cord polyps.4. Through the identification of constitution and physical conditioning, have positive significance in the prevention of vocal cord polyp.
