Objective:By detecting the expression of AQP1in normal tissue and vocal cord polyps, and exploring its role in the development of vocal cord polyps, it may provide a theoretieal basis for prevention and treatment. Method:Thirty cases of vocal cord polyps and ten cases of normal vocal cord were used in present study by immunohistochemical method and HE stain to detect AQP1cells. Use Image-Proplus software to test the immunohistochemical Image. Then use SPSS17.0which is statistical analysis software to analyze vocal cord polyps group and normal vocal group. All data were analyzed with t-test and correl-test by SPSS17.0software. Results:AQP1in the vocal cord polyp epithelial cells, inflammatory cells, vascular endothelial cells, glandular cells, fibroblasts expressed strongly. In normal vocal cords AQP1expressed weak. The mean number of positive units in vocal cord polyp group (39.9633±8.782) is higher than normal vocal cord group(17.4222±8.538),significantly different(p<0.05). The expression of AQP1between male and female vocal fold polyps was no significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:①The high expression of AQP1in vocal cord polyp tissues, suggesting that it may be closely related to the occurrence of vocal cord polyps and it's expected to provide the basis for the prevention and treatment of vocal fold polyps.②Polyp development process, the synthesis of AQP1promote angiogenesis polyps, polyps vascular proliferation, polyps get rich in blood supply to continue to grow.③The high expression of AQP1in serous gland cell could lead to a great quantity of grout secretion; The high expression of AQP1in epithelial next capillary and blood sinus endothelial cells result in the lamina propria of vocal cord mucosa hydropsia, plasma exudates. They both lead to more organizational liquid. At the same time, the low expression or no expression of AQP1in epithelial basal cell and ciliated cells layer cause liquid transportation barriers, and is not good for liquid transportation. These situation finally became tissue edema and polyps formation.
