Methods: The study is based on the345cases of infants’ facialhemangiomas treated with high-frequency electrocoagulation using fine needlesat the Department of Plastic and Aesthetic, The First Affiliated Hospital ofGuangxi Medical University, from January2011to January2014.The infants areone month to three years old. We sample the cases randomly with the maximumhemangioma size≤1cm2,1--3cm2,≥3cm2, and divide the cases into three groups. We draw the conclusion through comparing the hemangioma sizes beforetreatment and after treatment during the postoperative follow-up visit lastingfrom one month to two years. Results: Through observation and long-lasting postoperative follow-upvisits, comparing the hemangioma size before and after the electrocoagulationtreatment, the cure rate, the evidently effective rate and the effective rate are41.5%,39.7%and18.8%respectively. The total effective rate is81.2%. Theadverse reactions of high-frequency electrocoagulation using fine needles include: a) the treated areas are too deep and thus cause skin ulceration andbleeding; b) tissue depression is visible at the hemangioma body and scars areformed. No severe systemic adverse reaction has been observed.Conclusion:1) High-frequency electrocoagulation using fine needles is amethod which is safe, effective, less painful and easy to operate.2)High-frequency electrocoagulation using fine needles has better curative effectson small facial hemangiomas.3) Compared with other treatment methods,high-frequency electrocoagulation will product scaring, colouring mattes, weshould care about the ways how to correct use it.
