AIM: Retrospective study the clinical data of85cases in sport rupture ofAchilles tendon in NanNing, analyze the risk factors and provide effectivepreventive measures based on its characteristics. METHODS: The clinical dataof85cases that were hospital because of sport rupture of Achilles tendon fromSeptember2007to September2012were retrospectively analysis and did theclinic or telephone follow-up according the contact which they left. RESULTS:①Age:The average age of36.62years old,all cases are mainly between31~45years(44.71%).②G ender: Male:Female=16:1③O blood type with highnumbers of45.88%.④The vast majority of professional were office workers,accounting for63.53%.⑤Spring incidence of32cases was significantly higherthan in other seasons, which in April had14cases which was most of the month.⑥Neglected Achilles tendon rupture still had more patients, accounting for29.41%. Postoperative infection rate was8%.⑦Patients were amateur sportsenthusiasts, of which the vast majority of were ball games, accounting for95.29%.⑧Inadequate preparations accounted for78.82%, and patients do notexercise regularly accounted for62.35%. There was a basis of the Achillestendon lesions in41patients.⑨Breakpoint:mainly break at2cm~6cm upper calcaneal tubercle(89.41%). CONCLUSION: The characteristics of85casesAchilles tendon rupture by sports in Nanning are up to31to40years old,predominantly male, professional are all most office workers, mainly occur inthe spring, especially in April. Basic existence Achilles tendon lesions, hobbiesball games (in doing jumping jacks extensor weight status) and inadequatepreparations are property of their risk factors. Temporarily we are unable toprove that type O blood is the risk factors. We can take appropriate and effectivemeasures to prevent the rupture of Achilles tendon in sports according to itscharacteristics, and should reduce the incidence of neglected Achilles tendonrupture.
