Treatment With Yangyin Huoxue Decotion For Preventing Deep Venous Thrombosis Of Lower Extremity After Artificial Hip Or Knee Replacement

Objective: To explorer better methods of preventing deep venous thrombosis (DVT) oflower extremity after artificial hip or knee replacement. Methods: Choose 24 patients allfitting to the internalizing standard. They were randomly divided into two groups: testgroup (12 cases) and control (12 cases). All patients were treated with antibiotic to preventinfection. The patients of the test group were treated with taking Yangyin Huoxue decotion(养阴活血方) orally to decrease the occurrence of DVT. And the patients of the controlgroups were treated with injecting low molecular weight heparin sodium hypodermically.The treatments were lasting for 7 days since the first day alter operations. Then, at theseventh day all the patients were detected by the color Doppler ultra-sound and comparedthe ratio of DVT between two groups. Results: After treatment one patient was detected asDVT in the test group and the ratio of DVT was 8.33%. Three patients were detected asDVT in the control group and the ratio of DVT was 25%. The two values had no statisticaldifference (P＞0.05). Conclusion: The treatment with Yangyin Huoxue decotion (养阴活血方) is effective to prevent deep venous thrombosis of lower extremity after artificial hip orknee replacement.
