Reseach Backgroud Essential hypertension (EH) is a polygene descendiblity disease,caused by multi-circumstance factors and life style and descendiblity factor together, amass of epidemiology studies prove that the correlation of descendiblity factors andhypertension through different aspect and vary angle. Recently, there are lots ofhypertension candinate gene research about ACE gene I/D polymorphism. It is provedthat researchers make a more progress on the mechanism of hypertension pathology andblood pressure adjust. Many years’ clinic practice already prove that TCM combine towestern medicine to cure the disease dominantly in evidence. Traditional chinese medicinediagnosis is mostly the content of TCM syndrome which is the basis of therapy.Objective To investigate the correlation between ACE polymorphism and differentsyndrome of hypertension.We hope to provide more objective data to support traditionalchinese medicine differentiation of hypertension.Method We make hypertension patient’s registration forms and TCM symptoms severityindex to record information. The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and agarose gelclectrolysis were used to analyze ACE gene I/D genotype and its alleles.Result In the Essential hypertension patients, there much more patients sufferd from theLiver fire flare.There were no significant differences between men and women inavoirdupois index, systolic, diastolic pressure, dose use and with diabetes. However, theproportion of age, smoking, drinking, uric acid and serum creatinine in wemen was muchlower than men and the cholesterol was significantly higher than men. The ACE gene I/Dpolymorphism genotype in different syndrome group had no significant difference. But, thegenotype frequency ofⅡwas much higher than DD.The alleleⅠfrequency was much higherin every syndrome group.Conclusion The ACE gene I/D polymorphism genotype in different syndrome group hadno significant difference. The allele I may have the correlation with hypertension.
