| Bulgakov is a famous Russian novelist and dramatist and even acknowledged as the "20th century Gogol". He wrote many novels and plays and was noted for his full-length fiction Master and Margarita. It took him12years to write and modify the fiction which integrated biblical stories and secretive fantasy with realism sarcasm. Then in writing device, going against the writing principles demanded by Soviet in that era, i.e. the writing principles of socialist realism, he pursued the magical realism to compose his works. This research expounds on group redemption and individual redemption discussed in Master and Margarita and tries to find the way that Bulgakov has probed for human redemption with the use of text analysis, social psychological analysis and comparative analysis. It is the way that the terminal redemption of human as a whole has to be realized through every individual in an era that beliefs lose, that people no longer revere God and that the whole world become manic. The thesis mainly divides itself into five parts including introduction, chapter1, chapter2, chapter3and conclusion.
