| This thesis is dedicated to research the interplay between the minimalist artbefore the World War Ⅱ and the modern graphic design by applying formalismaesthetics, comparative study and semiotics theory. This research is not only formethodological approach but also for modernism design.This article is divided into three parts.The first part discusses background andpurpose statement research. The second part discusses the influence of abstractexpression in the early twentieth century on graphic design. The third partdiscusses the exploring of constructivism and stylist in the abstract art and graphicdesign. The fourth part discusses the Bauhaus’ inheritance and innovation in theabstract style.The last part summarizes the full text, proposed the existence ofdomestic graphic design and design education at present, and analyzes thesignificance of this research to solve these problems. |
