| Modernism painting style is extremely rich. The historical evolution of the genre fully showstransformation of the clear aesthetic viewpoint, which the focus shifts from the traditional realisticexpression to the subjective spirit of the performance. As various performance means of art expressionappear in people’s vision, artists began to simplify the expression of type on the processing of thecomposition. The object in the form of expression, color, techniques and language processing has changedobviously. In other way, simplification is the development of the times and the requirement of the era,further, an innovation and progress.Simplification in this paper is not refer to simple, but a relatively simplification, which is a simple wayto express complex and the nature of things with concise language. As an indispensable express,simplification goes through all the areas of modernism art. First of all, the author combing thesimplification of modernism painting in order of chronological sequence, and uses the representativeartists’ cases to show visual expression. For example, make people feel clearly how modernismsimplification develops step by step. Then the author study the methods and concept of simplification andsummarize the function and meaning of simplification in painting, which also is the soul of the research inthis paper.The paper consists of three chapters. The first chapter is analyzed from two aspects, including theevolution of Modernism painting and promoting from the external factors. The expression of simplificationstarts from the three aspects of composition, color and shape. The second chapter takes the Mondrian’spaintings as an example, the author holds the view that after Cezanne, Mondrian’s art way proofs theevolution of the picture from the abstraction to simplification in Western modernism painting genre. On thebasis of the first two chapters, the third chapter discusses the artistic value of modernism painting andprobes the significance of modernism painting. |
