Ludwig Van Beethoven (1770-1827)was the greatest Germanic composer, pianist,conductor and also a great representative of Vienna classical music. Together with Haydn andMozart, they were called the three greatest of Vienna classical music. During his life, hecomposed lots of great works, and he became the transitional milestone from the music ofbaroque period to Vienna classical music.“Piano Concerto No.1in C major” was Ludwig Van Beethoven’s early work, which wascomposed in the year1797. During this period, Ludwig Van Beethoven began to form hiscomposing style, and he was also welcomed by the upper--class people in Vienna. His worksin this period were full of youthful spirit, full of progressing, positive and optimistic attitudes.In1798, the establishment of diplomatic relations between Austria and France madeBeethoven learn more about the battle of liberating France. The heroism and the overthrowingof the feudal autocracy thought became one of the main factors in Beethoven’s works.This essay contains the classical style of peaceful and harmonious emotions of Haydnand Mozart’s composing style. However, the adagio and rubato in the second chapter, thecreating techniques of the rondo of concerto in the third chapter, both of which fully displayedBeethoven’s special composing style. At the same time, his style is transiting to romantic style,so we can say that Beethoven is one of the greatest musician of classism and he opened a newperiod of romanticism.This paper is divided into4partsThe first part:Ludwig Van Beethoven’s life;introductions of the six concertos.The second part: the achievements of the work “Piano Concerto No.1in C major”.The third part: the analysis of the performance and the edition of the last chapter of“Piano Concerto No.1in C major”.The fourth part: the artistic value of “Piano Concerto No.1in C major”.
