In the long history of art, feminist art has always existed, women’s bodies have also been amajor theme in the works of artists, but this concern is just a male perspective, not as a subjectin the history of art. This situation has continued to the present day, as the gradual awakeningof female consciousness in the20th century, women artists began to rethink the standards anddefinitions of the painting, they break the men’s view. While the male body is watched byfemale as a object, it become the best carrier of female consciousness awakening,whichmakes "the physical symbols" became an iconic female artistic expressions languages. Thestudy of the physical symbols make people in-depth understanding of the development ofwestern feminist art, which laid the foundation for the future development of Feminism.Afterhas analysis "The metaphor of the body" and studied the comparison in Chinese and Western,the researcher try to reveal special role of "body symbol" in the development of women in thearts. Because of the history of Chinese and Western cultures, the female of women in the artsare quite different, the use of physical symbols is also different. In the West, Feminism hasbeen showing a constant state of awakening,"symbol of the body" expressed in differentways, this is not exist in China. The show of "The metaphor of the body" has also experiencedearly-stage, but in the heyday female artist have a distinct consciousness of women, and at itspeak it is still able to maintain and continue to liberate "the body".In long times of feudalbound, the development of Chinese female art is slow.Even in revolution era, female art isalso not initiative, it don’t exist independent of female consciousness. When it comes to themodern, the consciousness began to awake. Under tremendous aura of the West, Chinesewomen’s art does not find their own road, also did not form the integrity of women’sconsciousness, it must had to go through the application of a hit and go to the mature period.
