| At the turn of the late19th and early20th centuries, British literature wasblossoming freely, especially the development of novel. Writers of this period notonly attached importance to the larger meaning of the work itself, but also the factreflection out of work. There were some writers began to communicate with eachother, and then their own writers group had been set up. That was the BloomsburyGroup, established by Leslie Stephen--the famous British biographer, and VirginiaWoolf’s father. This paper focuses on the British writer D H Lawrence who had aclose relation with this group. But later he left the group with acrimony, called it thecorrupt assembly of black beetles. At that time, the British literature was following theconsciousness style of James Joyce and Virginia Woolf mostly. However, D H Lawrence started the literary creation of his own character. Lawrence’s creations canbe classified as realistic themes. But, they are significantly different from the Balzac-led traditional realism in the mid19th century. There will be more in-depthunderstanding of the nature of Lawrence characteristics writing after detailed analysis.Lawrence’s literatures are based on the characters’ real inner, rather than thetypical character in a typical environment. Lawrence portrayed many characters in hissharp writing which are never portrayed by other writers. The ethics tendencies ofLawrence are analyzed in the form of the thesis theme in these four chapters.There are three main features of Lawrence’s works according to this paper: First,the female subject; Second, the theme of "sex"; Third, marriage and family theme.This article revolves around these three themes to discuss the ethics of Lawrence. Thesubject of this article lies in summary and understanding of Lauren Clarence literaturerather than creation. First, judging from the selection of subjects, Lawrence resisted tothe traditional ethics. The selection was very unique, and even could be saidunpopular. His materials mentioned so many sensitive aspects which were the blindspots of the other writers. The resistance to traditional ethics could be known from theform and subject matter of the Lawrence’s works. Second, judging from outlineconstruction, Lawrence resisted to the traditional ethics. When it comes to the ethicsof Lawrence, the main emphasis is the "resistance" and "questioned" to the traditionalethics of Lawrence that could not be considered completely "rebel". The questionedare the old traditions and old ideas; the resistance is immoral ethics. According to hisworks, especially the novels, we can see that Lawrence’s works have a negation of traditional ethics and rebellious, but there is more natural and social propertiescontradictions. Using the "rebel" or "rebellion" simply is too sweeping. There are twoterms chosen in this paper "resistance" and "suspicion" to reflect the relationshipbetween Lawrence and traditional ethics. |
